Amputee Football Training
21 Jan 2026
30 October – 6 November 2025 | Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Playground, Dhaka
The National Paralympic Committee (NPC Bangladesh) successfully concluded a specialized eight-day intensive training camp for amputee footballers. Held at the newly inaugurated Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Playground—a dedicated facility for athletes with disabilities, this camp served as a major step toward professionalizing the sport in Bangladesh and preparing our national squad for the 2025 Asian Amputee Football Championship.
Specialized Coaching and Skill Building
Amputee football is a fast-paced and physically demanding sport that requires incredible upper-body strength and balance. The training sessions focused on technical mastery under the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) standards, including:
- Crutch Coordination: Mastering the "three-point" movement to allow for rapid acceleration and ball control without using the crutches to touch the ball.
- One-Legged Technical Drills: Focusing on passing accuracy, shooting power, and spatial awareness for outfield players.
- Goalkeeper Training: Specialized drills for single-arm amputee goalkeepers to maximize agility and goal coverage within the penalty area.
