NPC Bangladesh successfully organized the National Amputee Football Carnival, a high-energy event dedicated to celebrating the agility and spirit of amputee footballers from across the country. Hosted at the Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Playground, the carnival served as both a competitive tournament and a talent scouting platform for the national squad.

The event featured fast-paced matches played under World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) rules. Spectators witnessed remarkable displays of "three-point" movement coordination and powerful strikes. The carnival highlighted the unique technical aspects of the sport, where outfield players use metal crutches to move with incredible speed while maintaining precise ball control with their single functional leg.

Highlights

  • Mass Participation: The carnival brought together regional teams, fostering a sense of community and healthy competition among veteran players and newcomers.
  • Skill Showcases: In addition to the main tournament, individual skills challenges including "Longest Kick" and "Precision Passing"—were held to identify specialized talent.
  • National Selection: Technical observers used the matches to shortlist high-potential athletes for the intensive training camp held later in the month.
