The National Paralympic Committee (NPC Bangladesh), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, successfully conducted the National Seminar on Para Sports. Held at the National Sports Council Auditorium, the event brought together athletes, coaches, sports federations, and disability advocates to discuss the future roadmap for inclusive sports in the country.

Fostering Inclusion and Excellence

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the professionalization of Para sports in Bangladesh. Discussions focused on bridging the gap between grassroots participation and international competition. Key stakeholders emphasized that Para sports are not merely recreational activities but a platform for national pride and athletic excellence.

Strategic Objectives for 2025-2026

The session highlighted several strategic priorities for NPC Bangladesh:

  • Infrastructure Accessibility: Ensuring that national sports complexes are equipped with "universal design" features to accommodate athletes with various impairments.
  • Talent Identification: Launching a nationwide hunt for young talent to prepare for the Asian Youth Para Games and other major international qualifiers.

Empowering the Next Generation

A highlight of the seminar was a panel discussion featuring veteran Para-athletes who shared their journeys of overcoming physical and social barriers. The Ministry of Youth and Sports reaffirmed its commitment to increasing budgetary allocations for Para sports and providing modern equipment to district-level sports associations.
