National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2025

The National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2025 was successfully held at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in Savar. Organized by NPC Bangladesh in collaboration with CRP, the tournament brought together the country’s top wheelchair basketball teams for two days of intense, high-speed competition.

As the pioneer institution for spinal cord injury rehabilitation in Bangladesh, CRP provided the ideal world-class basketball facility for this event. The tournament utilized specialized sports wheelchairs and followed International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) standards, ensuring that our athletes competed under global regulations.

• Technical Excellence: Teams showcased advanced tactical play, including chair-to-chair picking and precision mid-range shooting.
• Selection for Aichi-Nagoya: Technical observers used the matches to evaluate players for the national pool in preparation for the 2026 Asian Para Games.
• Community Spirit: The event served as a powerful demonstration of mobility and athletic empowerment, drawing a large crowd of supporters and fellow athletes.

This championship is part of a broader mission to professionalize wheelchair basketball in Bangladesh. By hosting the event at the CRP, NPC Bangladesh reinforced the link between rehabilitation and elite competitive sports, providing a platform for athletes to transition from recovery to national representation.
