Physically Challenged Cricket Trial and Selection Camp
19–20 August 2025 | Bashundhara Arena Indoor Cricket Complex, Dhaka
As part of the "Celebrating Youth Festival 2025," NPC Bangladesh organized a two-day Physically Challenged Cricket Trial and Selection Camp. This initiative aimed to scout high-potential talent from all eight divisions to strengthen the national pipeline for specially-abled cricket.
The camp was held at the state-of-the-art Bashundhara Arena, giving participants access to world-class seven-lane AstroTurf, advanced bowling machines, and video analysis support. To inspire the young cricketers, several icons of Bangladesh cricket visited the sessions:
- Tamim Iqbal and Habibul Bashar attended the opening day to encourage players from the Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions.
- Mushfiqur Rahim visited on the second day, praising the professional infrastructure and the passion of the athletes.
The selection focused on technical proficiency and game awareness. Athletes were evaluated for their ability to adapt standard cricket mechanics to their unique physical profiles. The top performers identified during these trials will form the core of the national youth pool, receiving specialized long-term training to represent Bangladesh on the international stage.
